Catosphere
Solving real problems with
smarter software architecture
Our approach is straightforward: we design efficient software that solves daily problems without tracking your behavior or locking away your data. Because our tools are engineered to run efficiently without heavy cloud overhead, we can keep our pricing fair, clear, and sustainable for the long run.
How it all started
Our Story
Learn what inspired the foundation of Catosphere and why we are taking on the industry in a new way.
Catosphere began with a simple question back in 2023: can I afford to buy a home? Online tools could tell me a monthly payment, but none showed how that choice would ripple through my financial future. Everything felt too shallow, too pricey, or too disconnected from the real decisions I make every day.
Between my job as a simulation engineer and a family man, I realized that our simulation methodology could help clarify many aspects of my personal finances. Unfortunately, between a full-time job and a new marriage, the idea never gained traction.
A few years passed. Life got busier. Responsibilities piled up. Eventually the need for clarity became impossible to ignore. That's when the project finally shifted from I should build this someday” to I'm building this now.”
The vision grew too. It wasn't enough to make just another budgeting app. I wanted it to apply to all aspects of my financial life. Long-term goals, short-term budgeting, a rich set of investing tools, and a whole lot more.
What's emerging is a platform built from the ground up for privacy, security, and transparency. It's the tool I wish existed when I was trying to make big financial decisions for myself. Something that helps you see your future clearly and make choices with confidence. My hope is that it becomes a resource that helps anyone navigate an uncertain financial world with a little more certainty.

Forever and Always
Our Commitments
These are the promises behind everything we build, design, and deliver. Forever.
Absolute Privacy
Your data belongs entirely to you. We will never sell, lease, or share your information with anyone. To protect your privacy, we build our software to keep your data stored locally on your own device rather than our servers whenever possible. We only collect the bare minimum required to make your tools work.
Radical Efficiency
We build software that is fast, lightweight, and efficient. We bring that same efficiency to our pricing: our costs are straightforward, with no hidden fees, unexpected price hikes, or trick tiers. We believe every dollar you spend with us should give you direct, obvious value.
100% Ad-Free
The modern web is full of intrusive, tracking-heavy ads that compromise your security and clutter your experience. We completely reject this model. You will never see third-party advertisements on our platform. Our only customer is you, not an advertising network.
Sustainable Growth
We are focused on building a stable, long-term business, not chasing temporary trends. By keeping our operational costs low and focusing entirely on product quality, we ensure that our company remains healthy, secure, and ready to serve you for years to come.

The catosphere plan
Our Roadmap
This phase-by-phase roadmap shows where we are in development and where we plan to go next.
Foundation + Early Revenue Experiments
We have a solid vision for the future of Catosphere and the financial platform we are building. In this phase we are gathering initial interest both from users and from investors who can help us reach the next phase.
Initial Company Website
Build the central hub for Catosphere, including the company story, product vision, waitlist, and educational content.
Grow the Early Community
Drive traffic through social channels, personal networks, and targeted outreach. Convert early interest into a waitlist of engaged users.
Release a Suite of Free Financial Tools
Develop a suite of high-quality, free tools that outperform existing calculators. Use them to build trust, demonstrate technical capability, and increase organic traffic to the waitlist.
Publish In-Depth Financial Articles
Write thoughtful, simulation-driven articles that showcase expertise and attract long-tail search traffic.
Develop Stock Data API
Develop a stock data API that allows developers to access market data for much less than other platforms. Create SDK libraries in a variety of languages to make access easy. API needs to offer OHLCV Data, daily, intraday, splits/dividends, symbol mapping. Also include company fundamentals.
Build + Monetize an Initial Market Model
Develop and validate a simulation-based market model for assets (stocks, ETFs, crypto, bonds). Explore opportunities for B2B insights or licensing which could help fund further development.
Create the Portfolio Design & Test Platform
Develop a web platform for investors to develop and test strategies against the data we provide. Allow for easy filtering, even allowing users to design their own index funds based on fundamental rules.
Secure Initial Capital
Raise ~$250k to fund 18 months of development, including simulation infrastructure, budgeting app MVP, and early user testing.
Investing Expansion
Deliver a full MVP of the Catosphere web platform and launch an open beta. This phase transforms Catosphere form a set of tools into a unified financial operating system.
Integrate Goals System Into Portfolio Designer
Based on portfolio composition and performance, users will be able to see how their goals are achieved over time
Integrate Investment Tracking Into Portfolio Designer
Integrate investment tracking to the portfolio designer. Use brokerage connections to show the user how their investments perform, as well as how it deviates from their intended portfolio.
Integrate Introductory Reporting Into Portfolio Designer
Generate 3rd-party reports for users to see how their portfolios across all accounts are doing. Show positions, cost basis, gains/losses, dividends, ETF holdings, and sector/risk breakdowns.
Initial Mobile Deployment
Create a mobile app that contains all the functionality of the web platform. Users will be able to use the platform on the go.
Introduction to Budgeting
Begin to integrate budgeting-specific features into the platform. By the end of this phase, the Catosphere platform will be feature complete.
Expense Tracking & Categorization
Allow users to track their spending and categorize expenses using tags.
Expense Projection
Automatically project past expenses into the future so the user has a clear picture of where their money is going to go.
Integrate Budgeting Details Into Reports
Begin to show past and future budgeting details into the reporting system, so it is no longer just about investments.
Automatic Budgeting
Integrate sinking funds into the budgeting system to tie goals to spending.
Scenario Comparisons
Expand the simulation engine to allow users to compare different spending scenarios and calculate optimal financial movements.
Phase 4: Further Opportunity
Explore ways to improve the platform and the services that we provide to our users. Continue growing our community sustainably.
Hire Additional Employees
Prior to calling the product complete, it would be helpful to hire additional employees to ensure it is as good as possible. The most important roles will be to hire a UI/UX Designer, a social media marketer, and a customer service representative.
<Details Hidden>
We see this item as an extremely valuable opportunity to expand the platform's user base and profits, so details are withdrawn.
Registered Financial Advisor
Qualify the company as a registered financial advisor and integrate with white-label banks and brokerages to provide fully automated savings management to users that want a hands-off approach.
Phase 5: Domain Expansion
At this point, the Catosphere Financial Platform has been completed. If the user base grows enough to allow it, Catosphere will hire a new product lead to begin tackling the next problem.
Hire a New Product Lead
The long-term growth model for Catosphere is to take on new projects similar to the one that founded the company. We will seek out talented developers with strong, marketable ideas and work to bring them to fruition.
